Soccer, Ava’s First Season

Wednesday, 11 May 2011 21:13 Written by Matt 0 Comments

Early in the spring, before monsoon season struck, we signed Ava up for soccer with the WOAC. She waffled between excited and nervous but in the end we think she enjoyed it. The cost was annoying, $90 for essentially 3-4 practices and maybe 4 games because of all the rain.

Our most popular piece of advice from the coach was (said during a game) “Ava, stop playing with your hair. You can do that after the game!”

Yep, she's really into the game!

Ready for action!

Lily missed the All Star game because of her surgery, and it took us a while to pick it up from the coach but it’s pretty cool.

Dance Recital

The girls had their dance recital this past weekend, and they did a great job dancing. It was a 3 hour show (!!) both Fri and Sat. I skipped out early with the girls on my night, since they finished with their routine at intermission.

T-Ball

We signed Lily up for t-ball this year, which she initially said she was interested in but now isn’t all that keen on. She had her first game today and it was pretty fun. They play 3 innings, everyone bats and gets on base with the last batter clearing the bases. Takes about 45 minutes in all.

Contrary to the name though, they don’t actually hit off a tee (unless needed). They get 5-6 pitches to hit, after which they bring out the tee if needed. Lily needs the tee :)
